This is the time of year I usually spend tweaking the website, paying for a little advertising and booking clients. This year, I'm doing things a little bit differently. My family and I moved this year from Towanda, PA to Spring Mills, PA (just a little outside of State College). With the move came the arduous task of rebuilding the photography business from scratch. I learned quite a bit the first time around, but not enough to turn this from "side job" to profitable business.

Couple the move with a bit of rebranding that is going on, and there have been some big changes and challenges.  Given the success I've had as a writer, that has been incorporated into what will be going on here, at my homepage. Additionally, I'm launching a speaking career based upon my mental health advocacy. Wow! So much going on!

What's the big idea? I love photography. I love capturing such special moments in peoples lives and being invited into their homes and families to do so. Every single time I'm contacted, it's an unexpected honor for me, and one I work diligently to earn. My focus will continue to be on that portion of my business. However, I've discovered additional talents that were either dormant or forgotten, and I feel like I can use them to help people as well. This page, with it's audience and reach, will be my home and main point from which I reach out. I want to encourage everyone to do the same.

Right now I'm struggling with Search Engine Optimization. To put it plainly, I'm trying to figure out how to show up a little higher on search engines when people look for services I offer. To say that I'm confused is an understatement, but I'm getting there. For now, I'm just excited by the new changes and the opportunities they present.

I think I'll part with these words: Be who you want to be. Be you and only you. Be unashamed of what and who you are and it will set you free.
